Diane D. Denish February 15, 2008 On Monday, April 21, 2008, New Mexico will enjoy an unprecedented opportunity to be on the leading edge of personal financial education. I am pleased to host the Second Annual Financial Education Summit in Albuquerque. Please join me. The summit will be held at the Marriot Uptown Hotel and will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will conclude at 4:00 pm. This educational event, which is absolutely free, includes classes, seminar and exhibitors. This gathering will bring together educators, business owners, community leaders, policymakers and experts in economic and financial education. I anticipate that this landmark event will set a precedent of excellence in sharing information and developing cooperative efforts between the financial services industry, the American Association of Retired Persons of New Mexico, educators and employers. It is my hope that the best practices of this summit will be shared with states around the nation. I invite you to attend any or all of the day’s workshops. However, I especially invite you to join me for lunch where I will make some remarks. The cost for the luncheon is only $30.00 per person. As a particular note to you as a business owner or leader, Tom Hoenig, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City will be giving a special address on our Nation’s Economy immediately following my comments. The New Mexico Securities Division, AARP New Mexico, The New Mexico Coalition for Financial Education, Jump$tart and my office have combined our resources to bring you the most informative and motivational summit, yet, on financial education. It is my sincere hope that you or a representative of your company will join me at this important event. Together, we can ensure that New Mexico employers are doing all they can to assist their employees in becoming better equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to better manage their financial lives. Sincerely, Diane D. Denish |
